Michael joined the Summit Team in 2010 and has been in the financial services industry for almost a decade. Over the last 10 years, his passion and enthusiasm for helping families and individuals accomplish their most important financial goals has only continued to increase.
His clients come from all walks of life and include business owners, middle aged couples, young professionals and retirees. Michael guides his clients through a process designed to align their financial choices with their most important goals and deeply held values, whether that is preparing for decades of financial independence in retirement, putting children through college, or leaving behind a legacy for the people or causes they care about. He partners with his clients to build a customized blueprint that outlines their specific goals and how they can be accomplished.
Outside of working with clients, Michael believes in the importance of financial education and has helped mentor high school students on entrepreneurial projects and teamwork, and has also taught students in high school classes basic financial topics such as credit management, investments and debt. For adults, he regularly leads comprehensive financial education classes that thoroughly cover topics such as retirement income, investments, and estate planning.
Apart from work, he and his wife Kristina have three children who keep them both very busy! Michael is an avid ultimate frisbee player and can’t wait until his two boys are big enough to join him out on the field. He’s played the piano ever since he was 8 years old and still relishes every opportunity to sit down and play. He loves following almost anything sports related including (but not limited to!) the San Francisco Giants, the Warriors and the 49ers. During the summer, the Lahls can often be found enjoying the 4th generation family home at Lake Tahoe and telling everyone who comes up that the water really isn’t that cold!
